Losing His Wife. Losing His Newborn. Losing Justice.
This is not a story. This is a testimony.
Chhatra League leader Jewel Hasan Saddam talked to Sheikh Hasina after losing his wife and infant son forever—while he himself was in prison.
He was arrested.
He was tortured.
He was denied the right to see his newborn.
He was denied bail - again and again - despite court orders.
And while he was behind bars, his home was attacked, looted, placed under CCTV surveillance…
Yet, on the day his wife and infant died, every camera mysteriously went offline.
His wife died.
His baby - only days old was found drowned in a bucket of water.
He was allowed only 3–4
minutes to see their bodies. He wasn’t allowed to make a phone call. He wasn’t even told where they would be buried. “Today I was released on bail in exchange for bodies.” This is not just about one family. This is about rule of law, political persecution, and human dignity. 📌 When bail becomes meaningless 📌 When custody turns into torture 📌 When CCTV goes dark at the perfect moment 📌 When a father must beg to hold his own child - democracy itself is on trial. Justice must answer: ❓ Who silenced the cameras? ❓ Who benefited from his continued detention? ❓ Who is responsible for the deaths of a mother and her
child? 🕊️ No amount of power can bury the truth. 🕯️ No amount of fear can erase this testimony. Justice for Jewel Hasan Saddam. Justice for his wife. Justice for his infant son.
